The Gandhi Agency for Rural Development (GARD) came into existence during the year 1994-95 in pursuance of Societies Act XXI, of 1860 ,Govt. of Odisha vide its Registration No-19629/61 dtd.22.07.1994 ,Cuttack issued by the Registrar of Societies ,Cuttack, Odisha

This Society hailed from Rural Back ground emphasizing the traditional cultures of the people in practical and following the realistic realization through proper study, research and analysis thereof . The Founder Members of the Organization resolves to dedicate the social activity for sake of mass poverty stricken people which includes Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, Mino1ity , other back ward community including deserted women, Older people and children amidst the acute poverty . Thus, with the collective initiatives and dedicated efforts of the Members the Organization decided to deliver the humanitarian services and beneficial programs for the targeted beneficiaries to help them assist increasing their existing socio-economic standard towards a sustainable livelihood. The Members of the Society were deeply concerned about the persistent plights & predicaments of the poor vulnerable groups, Socio-Economic Backward Communities, Small & Marginal farmers, Women and Children, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes including minority communities. The society greatly concern about the grave inequalities and large disparity among the people living in our project area.
